Pania Karnaki

Pania Karnaki, a psychologist with a specialization in health promotion, is the Head of the Department of European and International Research Projects in Prolepsis. She has a BA in Psychology from Deree College and a master’s degree in Health Science (Health Promotion) from Edith Cowan University, Western Australia. Previously she has been employed by the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine located in Athens as project coordinator of Greek and European Health Promotion and Health Education programs. She has also worked in the Department of Operational Research at the University of Patras as a researcher in the following programs: INNO-MED: Development of an Innovative Evidence-Based Medical Information System for the Improvement of Effectiveness and Quality of Medical Care -INNOREF/INTERREG IIIC and the Health Profile of the city of Patras. She has also worked for the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games – ATHENS 2004 as an administrative manager of the Hockey Competition Management sector. She is fluent in English as has a basic command of French. She has been working for the Prolepsis, since 2006 and is responsible for the submission, coordination and management of EU funded and national health promotion projects. She was the project manager of the "Guidelines for Prevention of Obesity in the Workplace GPOW" and the "EU Families and Adolescents Quit Tobacco  euFAQT", two EU co-funded projects by the DG SANCO Public Health Program 2008  2013.
