Event entitled “Lifelong Learning and Health”

The European population is aging every day. It is estimated that in 2050, 173 million people in Europe will be 65 years and older making the population of senior citizens double to that of children in Europe.

Senior citizens face a number of health problems. Dealing with these problems is, sometimes very difficult, as this population has difficulty in both accessing and understanding the relevant information.

In an attempt to improve the social incorporation of senior citizens and with the opportunity of the international day of senior citizen which is celebrated on the 1st of October, Prolepsis is organizing an information function titled "Lifelong Learning and Health".

More specifically, Prolepsis, aiming at promoting the health for vulnerable groups, such as senior citizens and illiterates, participated in two relevant projects titled "Alpha-Beta- New Methods for Services towards Illiterates in Adult Education" and "Alpha-to-Omega – New Pathways Towards Volunteering and Life Learning for Senior European Citizens". The outcomes and products of both projects will be presented during an information function which will take place on Tuesday 30th September at 12.00 pm at Prolepsis, Fragoklisias 7, Marousi.
