Presentation of the Pan-European Conference on Social Integration of Immigrants during the 2-day Conference organized by the Ministry of Interior Decentralization & E-Government

Τhe results of the 2009 Annual Program of the European Integration Fund and  the "National Strategy for the Integration of third country nationals 2011-2015", were presented during a Conference organized by the Ministry of Interior Decentralization and E- Government. Moreover, the annual program of the European Integration Fund 2012 was discussed during the event. The Conference took place on the 25th and 26th of November 2011 at "Technopolis" in Gazi, Athens.  

Among the actions that were presented was the 4.1/09 action with the title Pan-European Conference on the Integration of Immigrants "Good practices in the sectors of Health, Welfare and Social Security", which was organized by Prolepsis Institute. In her presentation, the director of the Institute, Ms. Afroditi Veloudaki, talked about the objectives and implementation of the Conference, as well as its major conclusions and results.

The Pan-European Conference was held on the 27th and 28th of June at the Acropolis Museum and the hotel «Royal Olympic». The Conference was attended by 155 participants from countries all across Europe, including Germany, Italy, Denmark, Malta, Sweden, Hungary, Ireland and Austria. The chair of the Organizing Committee, Athena Linos, Professor of Athens Medical School, gave the opening speech while representatives of Greek Ministries contributed with short speeches, as well. Representatives from European, national and regional authorities, academic institutions, research associations and the civil society in the field of migration, public health and social care exchanged their experiences and expertise in an effort to promote and strengthen the dialogue on effective policies and good practices on migrants’ health, welfare and social security, so as to contribute to establishing a multi-disciplinary partnership between EU Member states.
